Alignment Studio & Mobile Chiropractic | FAQ

How can chiropractic care help?

Chiropractic care reduces pain, eases muscle tension, improves posture, and helps your body function more comfortably. Treatment ensures your spine and joints are moving properly and is all based on your body’s unique needs. Some people may also notice better sleep, more energy, and balanced stress when their bodies move and feel better. GVR Chiropractic provides this care at the Alignment Studio or by mobile services.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a specialized treatment involving joint manipulation to a specific area. Using pressure and speed, an adjustment is made in a very specific direction. A chiropractor uses their hands or a specialized tool to achieve precise goals. A chiropractic adjustment is quicker and feels different than a massage, stretching, or a joint mobilization.

Does an adjustment hurt?

An adjustment itself is not painful. However, the areas being adjusted may be inflamed so when pressure is applied it can be briefly tender. Just like most bodywork you may experience some soreness when you first start treatment. This is normal for short a duration possibly after the first few visits. If you are experiencing lasting pain during or after your adjustment, let your chiropractor know right away.

What is that popping sound?

When an adjustment makes a “popping” noise it is usually gas releasing from the joints, much like when your fingers “pop.” The term for this is called a cavitation. This release provides a ton of nervous system feedback to your brain from the area being adjusted.

What should I expect for my first visit?

On your first visit we will discuss your full medical history and any current symptoms or concerns. Dr. Grant will then begin a physical, neurological and orthopedic exams. Any appropriate tests and or referrals will be ordered during this time. If there are no contraindications, you will be adjusted at your first visit. Initial visits will take no more than one hour. For each visit, Dr. Grant will arrive at your location and will bring all of the equipment necessary to perform safe and effective full-body chiropractic treatment.

What insurance do you accept?

Insurance coverage is always dependent on the insurer benefits and specific reason for your visit. GVR Chiropractic will check your chiropractic specific benefits for no cost upon request. At this time, we do not have a provider in-network with insurance. You may request a verification before your first appointment with reasonable time prior. HSA and FSA are accepted. GVR Chiropractic aims to keep care accessible and costs as low as possible. Please inquire about care plan or package pricing options.

Do you accept medicare or medicaid?

Medicare assignment is accepted at the doctor’s discretion. Please reach out if you would like to be seen at the Alignment Studio. Due to the nature of mobile visits we cannot currently take medicare eligible patients, or medicaid insurance.
